75 Mile Ride
Riders will leave the outskirts of downtown Cumming, GA, in the shadow of Sawnee Mountain, traverse around the mountain, and then extend north into the farmlands of northern Forsyth County. The low-traffic route is easily followed through quiet and scenic, rolling hills amidst a landscape of farms and livestock. At approximately 12.5 miles, there will be a rest stop. The route continues through quiet roads with a slight increase to the hills. At approximately 25 miles, there will be another rest stop (Yellow Creek Road and Highway 53). The riders will follow Steve Tate Road past Big Canoe to Highway 136. The terrain will progressively become more challenging, culminating with a climb of Burnt Mountain. The scenery is spectacular, with stunning views of the Northwestern Georgia mountains and quiet roads adjacent to lakes and streams.
